Have you ever been to a massive, week-long event with over 170,000 other people? Last month that’s exactly what I did when I flew to Germany to take a stand at the largest packaging tradeshow in the world, Interpack alongside All-Fill UK one of our earliest partners.
So, how’d I end up at a packaging machine trade show? I asked myself this same question when I arrived on the first day to see the enormous mess that was the pre-opening day preparations.
When I first saw the awesome value of solution automation in my previous minerals processing roles I knew there would be other industries with the same potentials, that said, packaging machines was not my first thought. But, when we started fielding various industries it became clear that a lot of these businesses already had the sensors, they had the data but they didn’t have the right systems to leverage any significant value. Quickly, we realised the best way to reach out and connect with these businesses was to connect with machine suppliers ensuring as many potential customers hear and learn about how their processes could be improved, and that’s how I ended up at Interpack
Attending Interpack while enlightening me to many other ideas and businesses, made it blindingly clear to me that there are gaps to be filled in so many more industries as I developed leads for industries including food processing, pharmaceuticals, robotics and cars! (BMW!). Needless to say, I’m pretty excited for the coming months!
As time goes on, I am coming to learn more and more about where various industries are on the path to automation and over time we’re developing different and effective low-cost means to raise the bar by bringing these businesses to an “automation ready” state. It continually excites me to discover new industries and new problems and be able to continually knock down walls by combining the fundamentals of Process Engineering and Coding. Interpack has definitely opened a lot of doors, can’t wait to start looking behind them all hah
